February 13 – February 17 2012
Bible: Life of Jesus
Memory Verse: Review Psalm 23:1-6
Spelling: wa-  and –ar words.
Language:  Capital letters, spacing between words, periods, question marks, and complete sentences.
Math: Sums and Differences (1-8); pennies, nickels, and dimes, quarter value,  word problems, measurement with a ruler, telling time, and months of the year.
Science: Movement
Social Studies: My World
100 Days Of School – We had a 100% participation – WOW! on some fabulous 100 item collections! Thanks for your whole-hearted support .   Come see the pictures!
Jogathon – Your children were full of enthusiasm as they ran their laps!  PIE did a spectacular job by organizing a special event that was enjoyed by all!
Valentine Party Exchange In class we will decorate two Valentine hearts stapled together (12×14) for your child’s Valentines. Please write only your child’s name noting it’s FROM: your child’s name and TO: blank. Thank you.
First Grade Chapel – On February 16th please have your child wear a patriotic shirt (colors of red, white, blue); or a white, navy blue or red school polo with uniform bottoms (khaki or blue).
HOMEWORK
Share: Your child will write 3 or more sentences on 8 ½ x 11 lined sheet to share about the topic.  The paper will be handed in at share time. An object can be brought in about the topic; optional. Please be sure to make up the share homework another day if there is a holiday or absence.
Feb. 13– My Favorite Place (Traveling America unit)
Feb. 21– My Favorite Game (Board Game or Outside Game – No Video Games)
Feb. 27– My Favorite Bible Character
March 5– My Dream Vacation
Monday: Spelling Words/ABC order, memory verse, read with a parent, Share (writing sentences), and RETURN LIBRARY BOOKS.
Tuesday: Share (writing sentences), memory verse, math worksheets, Spelling words, and read with a parent.
Wednesday:  Memory verse, Mapping A Story, Practice spelling test, Share (writing sentences), and read with a parent.
Thursday: Spelling words, memory verse, read with a parent, Share (writing sentences), and Mapping A Story.
Friday: Homework folders are due.
